Things to do!

Goa Gajah (Elephant Cave)

Located in Bedulu Village in Gianyar, Goa Gajah is believed to have been carved into the hillside and used as a monastery during the 11th century. A tale reveals that the cave was created by the fingernail of a legendary giant known as Kebo Iwo. Centuries passed and it was forgotten, only to be rediscovered by Dutch archeologists in 1923. 20 years later, they unveiled the holy fountains and bathing pools that the Hindu Balinese use to worship the God Shiva and his elephant headed son Ganesha, whos statues adorn the area along with other many Gods.

We have never been here ourselves, but the story and history provokes us to visit on our Wedding Trip this time. Friends and family who have visited mention that it is spiritual and enlightening.

Call Made on 0818 355 045 to organise a trip up to this beautiful area.

He does great deals on transport and if you reference our wedding, he'll give you our discounted rate or Rp. 450,000/day with a driver. This rate allows you to travel around the island for a good 8 hours and you won't regret it. (Make sure you tip your driver, depending on the time he has spent with you Rp. 50,000 is a kind gesture that will go a long way.)

Watch this space for more ideas!

Love,
{Xav & Nat}
